Distribution

All the fields in this view are used to specify default values for the corresponding node attributes used when you create new nodes. The “Distrib.” popup menu is used to select a default distribution.

The “Incl. stoch. val.” checkbox is used to specify the default setting for this attribute. Note, however, that you reverse this setting if you hold down the “Shift” key on the keyboard when you create a node. More specifically, this means the following:

CASE 1. “Incl. stoch. val.” checked:

If you create a new node without pressing the shift key, the new node will be a “stochastic” node, i.e., its “Incl. stoch. val.” attribute will be switched on.

If you create a new node while pressing the shift key, the new node will be a “deterministic” node, i.e., its “Incl. stoch. val.” attribute will be switched off.

CASE 2. “Incl. stoch. val.” unchecked:

If you create a new node without pressing the shift key, the new node will be a “deterministic” node, i.e., its “Incl. stoch. val.” attribute will be switched off.

If you create a new node while pressing the shift key, the new node will be a “stochastic” node, i.e., its “Incl. stoch. val.” attribute will be switched on.
